Michaella Sewers
Michaella Sewers, BKin
Kinesiologist, Active Rehabilitation
Michaella completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia in 2016, receiving her Bachelor in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. She took the interdisciplinary studies option in her degree so she could fine-tune her education towards the human body and rehabilitation. Michaella is currently a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance.
Michaella’s interest in Kinesiology and rehabilitation originated from her participation in sports, primarily as an elite soccer goalkeeper. She played from the time she was ten years old until she was 22, and she sustained several injuries and concussions as an athlete. From a young age, these injuries led her to physiotherapy where she became intrigued with the aspects of the human body, the effect injuries have on the body, and the means it takes to overcome those injuries. Through these personal experiences alongside her education, Michaella prides herself in helping others obtain a healthy physiological state, whether it be following a motor vehicle accident, following an injury, reducing everyday pain, or achieving personal goals.
In her spare time, Michaella enjoys living a healthy and fit lifestyle. In the summers you can find her water skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and hiking. In the winters you can find her weight lifting or snowboarding on our beautiful mountains.
